Australian Year of the Farmer 2012

Everyone is connected to farming in some way—from the food you eat to the clothes you wear—so to recognise their importance 2012 has been named the Australian Year of the Farmer.
Events are planned to celebrate the vital role farmers’ play as well as inspire people to support their local farmers. A roadshow will travel more than 56,000 kilometres and attend hundreds of events including agricultural shows and field days, food and wine festivals, sporting events and music and cultural festivals.
There are plans for an Agricultural Innovation and Technology Expo and a Food of Origin Extravaganza to promote the quality and origin of Australian food products.
Show you support by buying Australian farm products over imported products when you shop.
