Fair Food – the documentary
Posted by Webmaster | Filed under News Bites, Spotlight—Food in focus
A fair food documentary highlighting the work of Australian farmers, communities and social entrepreneurs who are pioneering and encouraging new approaches to food production has been launched.
A co-production of the Australian Food Sovereignty Alliance (AFSA) and the Field Institute, it is said to be Australia’s first feature-length documentary on fair food and was financed through crowd funding. The documentary profiles a free-range pig farmer in Victoria, an avocado farm in the NSW Riverina district, a land management expert, Indigenous elders as well as industry professionals and supporters who want control of agriculture in the hands of small-scale local producers that prioritise the health, wellbeing and stewardship of the land. The film will be screened around Australian in 2015.
