More veg for kids

The 2017 NSW Ministry of Health’s annual report has focused on what children eat and drink. It looked at trends in the consumption of fruits and vegetables, discretionary foods such as takeaway and unhealthy snacks, and drinks such as water, milk, and fruit drinks.

Unsurprisingly, children aren’t eating enough fruit and vegetables. Only 3 in 5 children eat the recommended amount of fruit daily, only 1 in 20 children eat the recommended amount of vegetables daily, and they’re eating too many treat foods with 1 in 2 children eating an unhealthy snack every day.
