Alison Drover
Alison lives in the ‘Barn’ at Corndale in the Northern Rivers hinterland of New South Wales where she grows her own food, shares chickens, composts, has a worm farm and runs her businesses, Fork in the Field and The Alison Principle.
Alison’s favorite television show as a little girl was, to no surprise, the backyard greenies self-sustainable The Good Life!
A recipe and food writer, chef, sustainable food consultant, educator and event designer, Alison is a champion of food sustainability and corporate and social responsibility. She is recognised for her collaborative creativity in design of community events that inspire, educate, and contribute to positive change. She co-hosts a community radio food show in Byron Bay and is actively involved in local community food projects.
Alison recently established Fork in the Field, a range of cooking/growing classes for adults and children designed around improving traditional food skills, gardening and conserving and preserving food as well as regional and local food tours. On the stove is a range of Fork in the Field local, sustainabe and organically produced products and more Fork in the Field events like the recent ‘A nod to the honey birds and the bees’.
